How To Keep A Raw Food Diet Through Xmas
If you've heard about raw foods or raw food diets you may be wondering -- what are raw foods? I know a lot about raw foods because I've been eating them for many years, having cured myself of breast cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis, acid reflux, sinus infections and many other ailments and conditions after starting on my own vegan raw food diet.
A very popular colon cleanser, Colon Cleanse is all natural and uses a patented "green" process to lock in all of its detoxification power. Colon Cleanse work by using natural fibers and herbs to push out compacted waste and harmful toxins. While some colon cleansers can cause discomfort due to the high fiber intake, many users have had positive experiences with this product. I have a particularly sensitive stomach and would not fare well with any discomfort.
#1: Raw Soups. Raw soups are incredibly easy and quick to make, not to mention absolutely delicious. Some of the best raw food mum you can prepare are raw soups. They have an amazing texture and flavor that rival warm soups and take a quarter of the time to make. You can easily whip up a soup in your Vitamix or blender in less than ten minutes. These soups are also incredibly convenient as they can be prepared, frozen, and eaten later.
Optional: 3 teaspoons of Italian seasoning for a more pizza-like cracker or add 3 T caraway seeds for a caraway seed cracker or add 4 dates for a sweeter cracker or add 1 T coriander seeds or add 2 cups of unsoaked sunflower seeds that have been ground up fine in a food processor or any combination of any of these. You can also add 5 stalks of celery or the pulp from juicing carrots instead of some of the water as long as your final mixture is a little moist.
So here is where I am going with this. I say we need to eat a lot more, not processed nutrient deficient, comes in a box with a label food and a two minute microwave time. But real living fresh food that is as free from pesticides as possible (Don't get me started on that, that topics is a whole other article). There are living enzymes, vitamins and nutrients that we don't even have names for yet in fresh living food.
One of the best ways for a person to discover new tastes for their raw recipes is to experiment making smoothies. A smoothie is a common breakfast for any one who eats raw food. It is very simple to do, and can include just about any ingredients you want. Be experimental and open to new fruits and vegetables. You just might find a combination you could die for. You can also spice up your fruit and vegetable selection with herbs and spices. How about a banana mint smoothie? Who knows, it might be your favorite.
New studies suggest once again that citric fruits including oranges, tangerines, and grapefruits help fight cancer, high cholesterol, and obesity. Studies both at Texas A&M and University of Kanasawa Medical University in Japan show that compounds in citric fruits can help reduce the risk of colon cancer.
I now take extra food to work because there is always someone eager to try some of my raw creations. It's a great feeling, and you know what? They are always pleasantly surprised!
